I've had a slow start to the season, but things are picking up. Finally got into a little GREEN this morning.

Friday turned out to be *a dud. *Saw thousands of geese but most had other places to be. *

Landed 2 flocks of 50-ish in the decoys. *Unfortunately I need to work on gunning skills as the two of us only killed one, barely. *Hank had to chase him down. *Not Picture Worthy.. Sorry

Sat. turned out different. *Found a pond loaded with mallards. *Four man limit by 8:00 - 7 different species. *It was a meat hunt, but we could have waited later in the day and picked off big ducks.


The pond was off limits for Sunday as there were going to be deer hunters there. *So Sunday we headed off to Ol' reliable. *Its a big comfortable blind, you can drive right up to it, usually plenty of birds.
Managed 11 Gadwall.


And it hard to beat a warm breakfast in 23-deg weather....


And the reason I get out of bed in the morning

Looks like you've had some solid hunts already. I'm looking forward to starting on the duck hunts during the second season.
