Early stage of the pineapple flower emerging. I have 3 that are going to fruit so far this year.

It takes about 8 months from here to get to ripe.

Going to repurpose a feed trough stand for a shade cloth frame over some new raised beds. I'll use electric pipe to go up and above the tanks .
It had plastic barrels cut in half lengthwise that were cracking from sun exposure.

these tanks are 2x6x2. The frame is turned upside down and the pipe will be stuck inside the legs to extend up for the shade cloth. I'll leave space for picking so I won't have to lift the cloth up. I'll just bow the pipe and go into the opposite leg.

Obviously this little guy isn't going to make a pineapple anytime soon. This is a pup from the mother plant. They start coming out the lower side .

You can let them get larger before pulling off and planting. You can leave them on the mother plant and they will still produce but will be a smaller pineapple. They larger you can get the plant to grow the larger the pineapple will be.

I bought the last peach tree tractor supply in wilburton had today. I got it at a very reduced price. It just felt loose and I opened the bag up and it doesn't have much root. It'll go in a container in the greenhouse so I can baby it along and try to get some roots going.

Dig up a Bermuda grass infested raised bed that had asparagus in it . The crowns were one big mass smothered with the Bermuda. These will probably go in the new tank beds.

I have a old liquid feeder that I have more asparagus in that I will dig out also. It has weeds, Bermuda in it also and dries out pretty fast in the summer. The heat and drought last year really put the hurt on it. It has small spaghetti shoots coming up.

Damn, y'alls gardens are a lot bigger than ours. Pineapples? WTH? :) Do have our first asparagus poking through. Got the wife's greenhouse done so hopefully can get more things started inside next year. View attachment 355208View attachment 355209
I saw 4 asparagus about 4-5 inches tall last evening. 😛 I put another 20 crowns in recently as well.
