41mag and 44mag die question

I mainly saw 3 and 4 die sets for pistol cartridges. My question is can I just get these two dies and essentially have a “2 die set” for 41mag and a “2 die set” for 44mag? I don’t have a progressive press and don’t plan on reloading these two cartridges on one if I did have one.

Yes you can load it with 2 dies.
You will not be able to flare the case mouth with a die but there are other ways to flare and maybe you have a die that will work for that.
I used a 50 BMG case with a bullet in it (no powder) to do my flaring of cases for a couple years.

Just get the 3 die set……I remember trying to put together 44 mag rounds years (and years and years…..) ago without belling the case mouth, and I ended up with some odd looking shells. I think the bullets went in kinda canted.

Don't forget to get a good crimp, especially if you're loading magnum loads. I like using the 4 die set from Lee; I pretty much use the bullet seater die for only seating, then use the 4th die (factory crimp die) to crimp well. If you don't want the FCD, or can't find one, the regular seater/crimp die will surely work too.

If you decide to load any cast, then the expander / bell (flair) die becomes a necessity.

I generally seat and crimp separately anymore, use the same die (except 44, made my own seater die), but just adjust it to each function!

Just add the Lee Universal neck expanding die and your GTG.
