Just picked up a new Uberti El Patron. I've been loading 45 Colt for quite a while, but thought I'd work up some lower pressure loads. All my favorite recipes are for Rugers and fairly stout. I'm staying with 250 grain lead flat point bullets. I have a pound or two of most popular powders. (W231, Universal, Unique, RedDot, AA5, AA7, HS6, Trail Boss). Would anyone care to share their favorite loads? Thanks, Jack

First thing is to slug the barrel and cylinder throats, I think you will find that it will need .454 diameter lead bullets to shoot its best
and not lead up, also use soft lead BHN 9-12.
Then try 4.5-5gr Red Dot or 6gr Unique.

I have 6 of the Uberti made 45 colts and all need a .454 lead bullet.

If'n you're interested in what the original load feels like, get some black powder. Much more fun. You can get real close to 1000 fps with Swiss BP and a 7.5 inch barrel.
