In actuality, the latter would be more like this:

No way I wanna water down these fine offerings. :D

<And yes, I had to look up connoisseurs - couldn't even get close enough for spell-check to figure out what I was trying to say!>

Crown Black is good, the XR is superb. If you go with the blended whiskey I would serve it on the rocks but, if you choose the Glenmorangie, try it neat with a drop or two of water.

I absolutely loved the La Santa, hoping the Finealta is going to be even better. I'm leaning that way just because of my general preference of Scotch over bourbon. Bourbon usually is for mixing, in my past experience. But Crown is one of the better ones, so maybe the Black is worth going back to the "dark side"? Had Maker's Mark on the rocks (ice, not the REAL rocks) a few weeks ago and it was damn good.

Get you one of these. They really bring out the body and nose of a fine scotch. I was a non believer until i tried one. Once you have used on, you will never go back to an open mouth rock glass again. Also i am not a fan of ice in my whisky. It just kills it. The soap stones are nice, but do not go well with fine glasses.

Just a quick shot of a portion of my current selections:
