I used this as a starting point.



MMM, thats not a blower moter, thats a condensing fan moter

Red = Professional fix |
Blue = Homeowner fix

Faulty relay or fan control R
Faulty motor R
Faulty fan belt R
Bad wiring R
Faulty thermostat
Frozen coil due to an AIR CONDITIONING PROBLEM R
Bad or weak motor capacitor R
Breaker or switch off B
Filter completely blocked B

Of course, it all depends on individual skill and comfort level. Beautiful thing about the Internet is the sheer size of the repository of information (and porn) but have to know when to call a pro. For me that point is when dealing with the closed refrigerant part of the system.

Mine is the high voltage lines, never did like those spArks... ;)

My capacitor went out last week. Everything was on on working fine just blowing hot air. My house is only 14 months old so I was 2 months out of freakin warranty!

This... if its bulged , replace it

Remember it holds a charge?

A lot of times when the small caps go bad they don't bulge. Only way to test is with a meter that reads mfd.

Hold a charge? I've never been shocked by one that didn't have power energized to the unit and have changed hundreds, but I'm not an inspector and spout bs on the interwebs.
