Academy going down the tubes

Wanted to buy my son in law a double rifle case for his ar15 and mini 14, wanted good American made electronic ear pro, lastly a nice bipod.

Academy had 1 option for the case and it was pricey, eat pro wasn’t much better with many made in china, bipod options were pretty scarce too. Came home and ordered online. Sucks but I needed options.

Anyone else noticed a very limited selection there? I did buy some ammo so not all is lost.

Academy blows. I go there mainly to use the sh*tter and if they have something that's not junk on sale. Otherwise, I'll road trip to Cabelas or something or order online.

I’ve never liked Academy, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve shopped there so I’m biased, but I do agree with you! Even their name brand stuff just seems… irregular to me. Kinda like kohls or something. Sure it says Nike, but I’ve never seen that anywhere else…

They’ve been overpriced for 30 years, limited on selection, and just an overall mess. They’re - last minute, gotta have it - only, in my opinion.

Academy is like Arby’s IMO. If it’s not on sale it’s a rip in most cases. I’ll buy ammo or even some fishing but most is way overpriced.

Academy is my last resort if I need something quick. I might go to one a half dozen times a year (maybe), and most of the time I leave empty handed.

IMO take the drive to Scheels in Wichita, KS or The Colony, TX. More to pick from and better prices. Depending on what you buy.

I don't waste my time going there anymore.

Academy is on par with WalMart and Home Depot. They stock whatever the Chinese will send them.
