If you dig deeper into the hunting laws, there is a provision that says unless otherwise provided in other laws.And yet the latest hunting regs state..except as otherwise provided, no person may transport a loaded firearm in a land or water motor vehicle. So I guess the other rules are maybe "as otherwise provided" . ??
Yes, your correct in that in the hunt stand you can't have a rifle during bow season but nothing prevents you from having a long gun in the vehicle for self protection. You are allowed a hand gun in the bow stand per Oklahoma carry laws.

I suspect that is on corps of engineer lands. It's a federal law that is not enforced during hunting seasons on state managed WMA's that are on Corps lands.
