Curious Perplexed - what would be your response in said situation? In all honestly I'd like to say if I were armed inside and saw it happen, I'd pound on the inside of the door to solicit a shot then open fire but reality is that's just me pounding my chest online!
I’m not saying it’s a good idea or even legal, but shooting a person through a door that the homeowner knows is stealing from them AND armed would be hard for me to indict if I was in the grand jury. 
Throw a fire cracker out the mail slot on the door hoping he fires a shot in reaction. Then cut loose with the 12 gauge slugs. 
That individual did not just draw that weapon.
How many friends did he bring who also have weapons?
