Getting the itch for a big bore AR and am looking for some insight. Have researched and am torn between the 458 SOCOM and the 50 Beowulf. Anyone have either or both of these calibers? Which way should I go?

458 SOCOM all the way for bullet selection, reliability of feeding and extraction, commercial availability of ammo, availability of suppressors, etc.

Beowulf is cheaper to shoot and easy enough to reload for. And you don't have to justify why you didn't get the big one, just sayin.

I have both. My Beowulf is a 16" and the SOCOM is a 10.5". Both are fun and I reload for both. If you reload, the only difference is the larger selection of bullets. The .458 has a larger selection IMO. If you don't reload, the Beowulf is a lot cheaper and far easier to find.
