I think that’s gonna be the ticket. Haven’t gotten around to starting my window shopping yet, have a bunch of other things to purchase/do first. But eventually.

The 30.06 will take any big game in N America, so the 300WM should be even better I think. Personally, if I could I would love to have a 458 WM but that might be a little bit of over kill.

since this got revived, I'd steer clear of the belted cartridges. There are better choices for reloading. But that's just my opinion.

Belted magnums. Incredibly hard to find ammo for to gain 200 fps.

that's the primary wear point and can't be sized.

It's not that there's a problem, there are just better choices, especially for reloaders. Short mags have all the benefits of belted magnums and none of the case life issues. Same goes for 300prc. It's a good round with a better case life.
