Thought you guys might like to see this. I bought 500pcs of starline brass in 45LC that came in today. here's a direct comparison of that brand new brass vs a box of 38sp brass that came out of the tumbler two days ago.

you can tell which is which by case size. photos to follow

aviator41 can you do a side by side of the 2 cases Zoomed in.
See if any peening is going on .. looking for surface texture?

Those cases look really nice ..Congratulations on the cleaning job.

Untouched, cleaned brass next to brand new brass. As you can see, the sides look pretty much the same. there might be a small amount of scratching, but it's quite insignificant. This brass has been fired at least 5 times, each time being cleaned in walnut - until this last time when it was cleaned in SS pins.

The sides looks almost exactly the same, shine-wise. Here you can see the halo effect from the flash to get a good look at the rims. No peening.

Closeup of the rim halo. I see no peening. The used brass looks exactly like the new brass at the rim.

reflection isn't quite as crisp on the cleaned brass.

Very nice Thank you for posting.
Hard to get the exposure correct when taking pictures of shiny stuff up close. you did great.

That SS pin cleaning sure gets the carbon out.
It will corrupt you. :)
