I was once given 550 rounds of that ball that was 54 years old. Every round fired with no problem. I was very careful to clean my pistol after every shooting session.

Or you could get a G21 and have a lot of fun. Probably about the same price as a cheap 1911 and twice as reliable.

The last time I qualified with a pistol in the Corp, it was 1940 military ball. Still qualified expert, didn't have a single bad round.

With ball ammo? They'll be dead even.

that should be non corrosive?? i know all M2 ball 1953 and later is NC

The ammo might be corrosive so clean the gun afterwards
