I own a factory ported Springfield Armory V-10 1911. My wife gave it to me for christmas right after they came out...I don't know...14 years ago maybe.

It shoots great, I hope I never have to shoot it from retention. The last time I practiced retention with it, I got crap in my eye and burned a spot or two on my face and neck.

Mikey....try rotating your hand 90 degrees clockwise at retention , if your joints allow, and most of that pressure and garbage will irritate the person on your right.
