Ccw in Vegas????

I just found out my wife is sending me to Vegas for my birthday. Awesome I know, but I've never been there. How carry friendly is Vegas?

Not at all. They don't reciprocate our license, and open carry in Clark County is impossible.

In 2010 I hauled a wedding dress for the now ex daughter in law. Not sure of the laws there. But, concealed a Sig 228 in a Milt Sparks OSW holster most of the time. I had a Utah CCW. In the casinos and elsewhere. I went through the checkpoint at the Hoover Dam with a AR and 1000 rounds of ammo. That did pucker me up some. I don't go out of state without one. I was caught in the high country without one. Fishing the High Country of Colorado. Sept 11, 2001. Not knowing what the heck happened. Changed my views about stuff. I don't worry much about ccw signs. At my age I don't give a crap. And I will never go to New Jersey or New York.

I go to vegas every year for the SEMA show. I carried last year (first year with my license), but when I got there I realized that there was no reciprocity. You would think with as much crime as they have, that they would allow it, but NOPE!

Well that answers that question, after being LEO for 6 years I'm having to learn where I can't carry anymore lol

Think the guy at "the Gun Store" told me Nevada didn't reciprocate because NV makes you register your carry piece. This was almost 10 years ago so take it for what its worth.

Nevada does require registration of some sort but "travelers" are exempt for 60 days.

Clark county is the only place where you can not legally carry without a permit they honor, otherwise in ANY other county open carry is legal.
