Other than shooting pool or playing nickle dime poker in the Army back in the day I've never been a gambler, never been to Vegas or even been inside of a casino but I'll admit to blowing $10.00 on five Powerball tickets for the drawing last night and I plan on throwing away another $10.00 for the drawing Saturday night.

I know that the odds of winning are pretty much zero.......anybody else gonna blow a couple of bucks ?

But I think I'll help the winner (not me, nor even in OK) along a little bit today regardless.

Uncle Sam is the big winner, and he didn't even have to buy a ticket.

It's my understanding that your chances of winning go up significantly if you purchase a ticket, but that's just what I've been told. I have no personal experience with that sorta thing; winning I mean.

I hope someone wins it Saturday, me and a couple friends go in when they get above 500 million. Just an arbitrary number we picked. This one and the one in August got kinda expensive.

We always keep 5 lines going when the powerball or megamillions gets over 500million. After taxes for the first 2 years you end up with about 1/6th of the amount, but that's still enough to buy me a boat. And a truck to pull it. Maybe a yeti 110 iced down with some silver bullets...

True! I guess the $1 extra powerball doesn't come into play if you hit all the numbers for the jackpot.

Me and a couple of college buddies always throw $10 down when one of them hits 1 billion. So far we haven’t won but have an agreement that in the slim chance one of us wins the winner gives the other two a million.
