Where they bust the sod in South Tulsa County.
I kid you not out of 1 lb of the stuff I bet I had about 1 tablespoon of meat after the grease was allowed to drain off to the side.

1 Tablespoon is being generous.
Not a good flavor either so as others have stated get the good stuff.
It sure looked spicy and good in the package.

And I am not a picky person as you guys may know.
Mine came from Buy For Less on sw29th and May. They sell chicken feet there also.
When you buy grocery store Chorizo read the ingredients list carefully. Some include body parts like lynph nodes. The Chorizo I buy here in the Tulsa area comes from Siegi's or Fresh Market, or Whole Paycheck. I do order from Porter Road when they have a sale.
Try it as sausage gravy for bisuits, but usuallly I just add jalapenos to my wife's plain sausage gravy.

That store is the most "Mexican food store" I have been into.
It is a very nice store and as you walk in you are greeted with huge square containers
say 5 foot by 5 foot or larger and one is heaped full of Jalapenos.

I thought that would be a good place to pick some up.

Y'all have a Supermecados in OKC?

I use it quite a bit. Usually for breakfast, especially in an omlette. Believe it or not it makes a great topping over grilled salmon as well.

I must have bought the wrong brand also because it was nothing but grease.
Was a long time back but it was more than 99 cents I'm sure.
I can't imagine how long you'd have to cook that stuff to get the grease cooked out of it.

We use Johnsonville Chorizo in substitution of ground beef, because the wife won't eat ground beef. Works really well in every dish I've tried.

That was prolly the tubes of stuff, it is supposed to be used in place of butter, olive oil, Crisco ...... You render that down in the skillet then add peppers, onions or what ever and sauté it in the chorizo.
