Two sticks of ram that are unequal sizes is not good as it should be running in dual channel mode from what I know. So at the very least I would pick up a 4Gb stick of ram and toss the 2GB. Have to troll around and see what other info I find.

Edit:

Found this http://flash.newegg.com/Product/N82E16883266533?icid=WP_11_01292015

Looks like two memory slots so may not even be dual channel supported. Video is built in to the cpu and is a Intel HD4400@350Mhz. It's a dual core with hyperthreading.

Looks like they also shipped with a Intel Core i5-4460 3.2Ghz so if you are going you upgrade that cpu should be supported and would be a decent step up. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K91D75A/ref=psdc_565098_t2_B00HEIFZQ0

Could also toss in a video card and that will free up some memory as well. Has a full length pci express slot.

Ok, found this: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop_pub/lenovo_h530_hmm_20130807.pdf

Looks like it will go up to an i7 4770 but for your purpose the i5 4670 would probably be the max you need. I would be leery going off the below list though as it could be hit or miss if the bios was limited in what it could discern. The board could also have issues if it wasn't designed to support a more powerful cpu and hotter cpu's produce more heat.

G3220 3.0/1333/2C/3M/1150
G3420 3.2/1600/2C/3M/1150
I3-4130 3.4/1600/2C/3M/1150
I3-4330 3.5/1600/2C/4M/1150
I5-4430 3.0/1600/6/1150
I5-4570 3.2/1600/6/1150
I5-4670 3.4/1600/6/1150
I7-4770 3.4/1600/8/1150

I can't imagine it not having dual channel...since the CPU's are capable of it, but you never know with these computer manufacturer's.

I would put some of these in it...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231568 I am running these in my computer and have had great luck with them. They are somewhat decent on the latency. Make sure you have room in your computer for them...these aftermarket ones with the heat sinks can be tall and get close to the CPU heatsink, and may not fit.

I would be hesitant to replace the CPU without knowing more of the bios info...large computer manufacturing companies can be shady and "lock" certain CPU's into the mobo's because they want to sell you the upgrade. I could be wrong, but why spend +$150.00 on a CPU and then find out it doesn't work and cannot return it back to store. Others on here may have better luck, as I always build my computers.

Did I understand that right?

I have no clue what you just said. I think you said buy the item from Newegg and hope it fits....
What do you think the reason is for the GoPro software locking up?

Thanks for the time you spent to help me, I really appreciate it.

Video editing software is vary taxing on the processor and uses a lot of memory. You meet the minimum specifications on the software according to GoPro. It will lag, and encoding does take a huge load on the processor....so don't do anything extra while it does its encoding...just let it run. I know that Win 7 (current experiance) was very quick to state "not responding" even though the software was still doing its thing. You can tell when the Hard Drive light on the tower is still flashing.

Adding memory will help some of the lagging, as you aren't having to drop it to a page file, fragmentation of the hard drive can help, and a fresh install on the Operating System never hurts. Can't remember who said it on the board, but they could maybe meet up with you and look it over. Has spam or viruses been prevalent lately on the computer? Those can drastically slow down performance and cause crashes.

First, I would upgrade your hard drive to an SSD before RAM, if you haven't already got one. Especially if you have hibernation enabled, windows starts using the hard as early as when 25 percent of RAM is in use. RAM is still a good idea, but with the price of SSDs coming down it would be first on my list. Get at least a 256GB drive. Samsung or Intel would be my first choice, but there are others that are good as well.
