So I'm just getting started into CAS and the one time I've been it was a blast...I did horribly but it was fun.

I'm hoping somone can point me to a cheap source of ammunition(local even better) for a few matches until I get everything I need to start reloading my own?

so far best I've found is American Eagle at $20/ 50. (edited to ADD 38 Special is what I need )

if anyone cares I think I would rather use the 158 gr bullet as it feeds better in the lever action rifle I have :)

Thanks

'Bout time another CAS'er posted around here! Can't help you with the .38's, all I shoot is cap and ball and .44-40. Just wanted to si hi and welcome to:

1. the greatest shooting forum in the world, and

2. the greatest shooting sport in the world.

Go to the SASS Wire forum, http://sassnet.com/forums/index.php?showforum=12 some of the folks can probably steer you in the general direction of the least expensive .38Special.

Then stop by the Saloon http://sassnet.com/forums/index.php?showforum=16& and have a drink with us.

Big Boys Guns in Mustang also handles powder, or you can order in bulk from Powder Valley.

Where ever you order your bullets from you want them cast soft 9-12 BHN hardness is about right for CAS velocities.
