Well. If they wanna go it without PD, let them. For a while now I have questioned the wisdom of maintaining a police presence in areas where they are loathed by the majority of the population to such an extent that something can ignite a powder keg.
Where I live, we don’t have a PD, none of the small towns around here do. Yet, for some reason life goes on.
The odds are formidable, and sometimes it’s necessary to give ground and fall back to a more tenable position. If they don’t want PD in their sphere of influence, let them conduct urban pacification according to their Utopian ideals. Maybe a Thomas Moore will emerge from among them. Whether it succeeds or fails, it will set a historical precedent and be required reading in sociology classrooms.
If the mayors like rioting, looting and destruction of property, they'll defund the police. It wouldn't have been so destructive had the police been allowed to do their job, it's kind of like the military they won;'t let them do their job either without a ROE or stringent rules-same as police. PC has won! They're all a bunch of wimps afraid to speak what is other minds, ever condescending.
