I bought these the other day, thought I could possibly load up twice the ammo?

They do load in the tube......However they won't feed into my 870.

They pop into the receiver & end up backwards etc...

So I'll end up using them in my SxS double barrel break-over.

Thought I'd share, maybe everybody has already seen these???

I shortened some split cases years ago. Used the Winchester red wads that were designed for an ounce and a half of shot. Seems I had to shorten petals too. Some experimentation helped me establish the minimum overall length that would work in my 12 ga 1100s, now forgotten.

The case mouth had to be thinned on AA cases, but Federal Gold Medal worked great. I used a MEC Sizemaster with a wood spacer at the last two stations.

These short shells were a lot of trouble, but also a lot of fun. I seem to recall loading them with an ounce of #9 shot and a pretty conservative powder charge, and I think six would fit in the mag giving me a seven shot 1100. Of course my old Winchester Mod. 12 is already a seven shooter.

If you try this, rig up a way to safely and straightly cut off the cases, Two of my friends tried it with box knives and I think the stitch total ran around nine. Do be careful. CB
