I received a letter from a random person in Athens Georgia asking for permission to turkey hunt on my land. Is this a common thing or did I just get lucky? Are any of you other landowners receiving these letters?
Once in a while someone will ask permission. They usually hear from a friend's friend's cousin or something. I usually disregard...nobody from out of state is traveling to Nowhere, OK to hunt for themselves. They are probably selling hunts.
I've sent letters in the past to landowners who live out of state. Didn't get any responses lol.
With online land records available, this is becoming more common. It doesn't cost much to write one letter, change the addressee and mail out a bunch of letters.
The premium membership OnX hunt app shows the landowner name. I know most of the waterfowl guys cold call owners. Although, it’s easier to get goose hunting access over turkey or deer.
