I wactched Doomsday Preppers for he first time

I actually think the Doomsday castle idiots got their start on the American Preppers show (or WTH it's called)

My favorite episode so far has been the couple that ran a porn site or online sex toy company to make money on the side. They traded silver bullion wafers for a shipping container I think.

Normal people that prep wouldn't make for very entertaining TV. I can assure you that it'd be pretty boring watching my brother and I hang out and hunt at our cabin in the middle of no where. When all is done we will have a two year supply of food and enough ammo for a small army. I'd venture to say we are your average "doomsday preppers" and this doesn't fit the stereotypes the producers are trying to cast.

Agreed. My wife has often asked why a serious 'prepper' would go on national TV and divulge what preps they have, how the protect them (or the fact that they don't - crazy hippies!), and what it would take to overcome their defenses.

The answer is the lure of being on TV and probably a little cash in hand.

It's funny when they talk about secret bug out locations... Then it's shown on national tv.

Maybe they're all actors?

Much of reality TV isn't.

I love the lady that tried to take everything they owned in small inflatable rafts. Took em what, over 2 hours to get packed and to the river?

Why do people think it's real? You audition for the show. Then if you're selected the producers give you a doomsday scenario to prepare for. Then they pay you money for your apperance on the show. Then you can buy more cool toys. A friend of ours from Ketchikan, Alaska was just on the episode that aired last week. I'm thinking about trying to go to the next casting call. I'm just not sure a moose whisperer is gonna make the cut though. A unique skill I have but it doesn't really fit into any doomsday preperations.

watched about 3 or 4 minutes tonight and some neanderthal had read a book and watched a couple of TV shows and was going to do a C-section on his lady friend....if there was a way to contact him I would recommend at least 1 night in a Holiday Inn express...then suggest the pregnant girl, sneak out after dark and change her name....
