Thinking about trying to bow hunt it only. wont be there during gun days. Anybody got any tips? Do you have to check in daily? Whats the pressure like? Is it heavily timbered? High deer density? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.
I drew in on the Okmulgee GMA controlled hunt last year and it was pretty tough since we didn't go out and scout the area prior to hunting. It was heavily wooded with food plots intermixed in several areas. One guy shot a decent eight pointer down close to the river in some thickets. There were a lot of huge acorns on trails close to the river and it looked like a really good area. Everyone else was hunting the food plots and not having any luck. I walked up on a couple deer throughout the day but didn't ever get off a shot. Good luck out there!
