I’ve cleaned and eaten a bunch, and in my opinion, they’re not good. I know people that swear they taste good, but I’ll never clean another one.

They are terrible. I wouldn’t waste my time at all, lol.

I imagine the state is cranky because (some) land owners are profiting from the piggies, while the state is not!

This is going to cause the state to push for one of two things. Either state agent only eradication or they'll make them a game species and charge for the license or tags.

I don't believe any other states have done that, why do you think Oklahoma would?

Kansas has been like that for years now, they're not a huntable species, USDA or KDW only. It's been working too lol.

They do everything for money. And Missouri has already stopped hunting them on public land and discourages hunting them on private land.

I read that - they tell landowners to not shoot, report. Whatever. Just one more reason not to live in Kansas or Missouri.

This is why the only states that have successfully kept hogs out of their state outlawed sport hunting of hogs. Until you do that there will always be enough landowners around making money off them to quite literally populate the entire state with them.

California charges for feral hog tags and Texas requires a small game license to hunt them.

As mentioned Kansas and Nebraska both outlawed sport hunting and have successfully kept them out solely for that reason.

I believe Tennessee allowed sport hunting and the hog problem was growing so fast they outlawed it. Unsure the current population status of hogs there or how successful they have been.
