Greeting all. I have a L1A1 project and in need of a plumber.
New US bbl 9 need gas port drilled, gas block fitted/installed and bbl mount to reciever.

Too close to turn back now, and not willing to give this up.

thanks all.

If you are willing to deal with someone out of state, T. Mark Graham (a.k.a. The Gun Plumber) does very good work. His website is: http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/, and he specializes in the FAL type weapon system. He is very busy, and I believe there is a waiting list for his services (with him referring some potential customers else where).

If you want to do this yourself, you have picked the two hardest jobs for the construction of a FAL type rifle. I would suggest that whoever installs the barrel to the receiver understands that this is a critical portion of the build, and that timing a L1A1 barrel (which uses a washer) is different than timing a metric FAL (which uses a locking shoulder).

You could try http://www.cmparmory.com/ AKA Moses
or you could search for Sledgehammer Arms Works
AKA Randy Kline he is in East Texas.
No one local / in OK anymore. Used to be a guy off of Memorial.
Several good smiths out there and I would stick with FAL experience.
Anyone else would have to buy or borrow action wrench etc.
DSA barrel? Let me know how it shoots.
Oh and the washer sets your barrel timing and torque on inch.
Barrel shoulder sets it on Metric
Locking shoulder still sets your headspace.

Too bad you're not closer, I'm getting ready to do the same.
I've put together 2 metrics and 1 inch and they were not that difficult, this will be my first with a US barrel. It shouldn't be too hard with a drill press and patience. Where did you get your barrel?
