You can defend another (spouse, child, etc) if THEY are in danger of death or great bodily harm and be covered by the stand your ground law. Same rules apply, but they change the wording from you to they. You can only use the force they would/could use to stop the threat etc, again, "You are stepping into their shoes". If they can justify the fear of great bodily harm or death, and you defended them, you are in the clear.

I use a 300 grain hard cast core bullet in my carry gun. What would be the legalities if I had to use this type ammo in a human self defense situation? Do the number of legs involved make a difference?
