Just wondering, is it still legal to send preban mags to NY state?

I know that they passed their screwey 8 round limit, but don't know when that goes into effect.

Can they still receive prebans and then the onus is on them when the law goes into effect?

From the NYSP web page:

"Since the federal assault weapons ban in 1994, it has been illegal in New York State to buy, for any gun, a detachable magazine, manufactured after the law took effect, that can contain more than ten rounds. This law does not change that. Starting April 15, 2013, only magazines that contain 7 rounds or less will be sold in New York, including permanently modified magazines."

The way I read that, if you have a pre-94 ban mag it can still be sold up until April 15th when the 7 round limit kicks in.

After April 15th, if you have a pre-94 ban mag you have until Jan of '14 to either get rid of it or permanently modify it to only hold 10 rounds, but you can only load 7 in it unless at a sanctioned shooting event....or some other interpretation of that mess.

Insanity. In other words: Screw New York and trying to sell anything across those state lines.

Here's the State Police FAQ page: http://www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faq

Dave, dude, I think there's some kind of law prohibiting American citizens from selling gun parts to residents of a socialist country. That means those Nuuu Yawkers! Sell 'em to some honest folks instead....
