Actually, that was my point. If the person behind the counter either isn't versed in the law or has some other vague reason for not shipping a firearm, it don't get shipped. Ask me how I know (with USPS, UPS and FedEx).

May be what you meant, but not what you wrote. I got it, but others who don't know the laws about shipping might believe what you wrote.

I have dealt with USPS and UPS employees who were certain it was not legal to ship a firearm and Fed Ex employee who swore the firearm had to be rendered inoperable before it could be shipped, I went up the chain of command and those employees got educated. That's really the only way to fix the issue, force them to obey their own rules. Yes, it is a pain, but I'm stubborn enough to go through the trouble.
