Zero your 223/5.56 to 50 yards (irons/ red dot/ scope)you will still be on at 200, I believe 1” high at 100 yards(Ammo and barrel length dependent). This definitely fits your budget, my buddy has one on a 7” ar pistol and is happy with it.

I own a Spitfire and while it is a good prism scope I prefer the. ACSS reticle on the PA 2.5x prism scope I linked to above (and it's $90 less).

One thing I personally love about PA optics is that they still build 'em compatible with a direct carry handle mount. (ala trigicon style) I have an old pac4 that I picked up years ago for $100, and it's still going strong despite nearly ten years of abuse. It's spent time on every one of the dozen or so odd AR's I've built.
