I would have done the same. I won't shoot yearlings. One, they are adorable. Two, that's too much work in butchering for such little meat.

Last and most important is you might be killing a buck. Them little ones are hard to tell apart

Didnt see a deer this morning. Temp was decent. Its getting pretty dry, need some rain...

Several does and fawns piled into the cut milo about 6:45 this evening. Between the gnats and heat......I couldn't make myself launch an arrow from my longbow. I'm thinking the buffalo gnat count was somewhere around 6 billion.

Man, those buffalo gnats can seriously make a guy lose his mind.

Will be attending the antlerless, muzzleloader hunt at deep fork nwr next weekend (I plan on just taking my compound bow). Anyone been on this hunt and willing to share some advice?
