There is a lot of truth to this.
Dr. Deborah Birx who appears with Trump every day said Tuesday that patients that die WITH Covid-19 are counted as Covid deaths.
It appears she is saying if you have the covid virus, which might mean little to no symptoms with some, and you die of a heart attack or brain embolism neither of which is caused by Covid-19 it is reported to the CDC as a Covid-19 death.
When questioned about it on Wednesday by reporters, she doubled down on it. It's on video during the daily briefings.
Edit: I also heard on the radio from a doctor that had called in to a program that if a person is put on a ventilator, the hospital gets many, many thousands of dollars more from Medicare vs if they don't. That kind of ties into an earlier thread that said ventilators may exacerbate the issue vs helping because the issue is the virus is robbing the red blood cells of oxygen, and ventilators are not the best way to get that reversed.
I'm not a DR and am not playing one on the internet, just relaying what I've heard from some that say they are.

At Tuesday's White House coronavirus press conference, task force member Dr. Deborah Birx said that while some countries are reporting coronavirus fatality numbers differently, in the U.S. you are counted as a victim of the pandemic if you die while testing positive for the virus, even if something else causes your death.

WITH is the key word. The government is inflating the numbers to cover the models and still can't do it. 2 million deaths were projected before social distancing and stay at home was pounced on as the cure for the curve. Every model after the first projection had social distancing and stay at home in the models. There is no way in hell these people can project anything.
The greatest economy in history has been shut down for 65K deaths nationwide.
Pfizer said tonight they have the cure, but because of testing and production it won't be available until august. Maybe that will prevent what say will be a rebound? Wuhan hasn't had a rebound, why are we being told we might? Is it because its better to keep the economy shut down?
One segment of our country is loving this and it's the progressive dimocrats. This issue is pushing this country further into socialism faster than AOC and Bernie Sanders could wish for.

Epidemiology is turning out to be like forecasting the weather, or economics, or modeling climate change; it's far from an exact science and can easily be way off.
Just think of being an epidemiologist: this is your glory day, fighting a global pandemic, the spotlight is on and you get to do what you've prepared for all your life, something most epidemiologists never get to do.
Just like forecasting 10 inches of snow in Oklahoma and all the grocery shelves are cleaned out, then nothing happens.
No big deal for a short snow event, just a few snow days from school.
But there are going to be big consequences from this pandemic; depression, divorces, alcoholism, even suicide has been reported, not to mention foreclosures and all the things we haven't seen yet.
Just like gun violence data, wide open for manipulation and misleading methods.
Years will be spent trying to figure out how and why we panicked an entire nation, with misleading numbers and data.
And no real answer will ever come of it.

Counting people who die of "other causes" while suffering from the COVID-19 virus is consistent with standard medical practice. There are numerous reasons for this, but basically suffice it to say that no disease exists in a vacuum.
When I was in school they quoted us that 80% of people over 80 who have a long bone fracture never make it out of the hospital. They die from strokes, heart attacks, pneumonia or a number of other complications - seldom anything directly related to the fractured hip or leg. The reasons have to do with inflammation, stress on already-weak body systems, etc. These people still get counted in epidemiological studies as deaths related to their fracture or to surgeries to repair things - surgeons frequently hate that these numbers get attributed to their surgical complications, and I understand why, but it's the way it is done, consistently.

This reminds me of the movie "V for Vendetta".
If they said outright that our government is changing this country to a socialist state, it wouldn't stand much of a chance. This way they can lie, cajole, and scare this country into a socialist state. Not enough people see it coming.
