I have not read this entire thread, Lord have mercy on our souls.
All I have is anecdotal observations, but I feel pretty sure I know why the number is going down in Oklahoma at this time.
It's because college football season is behind us.
They've been telling people for about a year now, not to gather up indoors -- but that seemed to be lost on college football fans.
Every game day, the streets were piled full of cars in front of houses where friends and family gathered up with food and drink to watch the big game (and every single contest that YOUR team plays in, is the "big game").
And you damn well know they couldn't have been wearing masks while swilling beer (or soda) and chomping on Doritos and pork rinds, in between bouts of screaming at the television, "THAT WAS A TOUCHDOWN! THOSE REFS ARE ALWAYS AGAINST US!"
And I don't trust football fan COVID patients to self report whether or not they were social distancing.
Who is gonna admit, after being told over and over and over not to gather up indoors and to use social distancing, that you decided to pack everybody in front of the flat screen TV for hours, breathing all over each other while watching the football game?
