If “possessions” does not include “private land”, does that mean the hunting clubs do not in fact have to pay taxes on that property? If that land is available to the government “unfettered”, then they’re using it for their own benefit and they should be paying taxes to the people, not the other way around.

Obviously that’s not the point, but it does highlight the hypocrisy of the government in this matter. They want to have their cake and eat it to, but no cake for the people. :(
