I hate these types of threads because they always make me sad but this one is especially hitting me.
I just found out my good friend lost his 2.5 YO grand daughter last night.
She had a serious spinal disfiguring disorder and was sent to Seattle to a specialist who had a surgical fix for this condition. Its the most invasive surgery I have ever heard of. They went in from the front, removing some ribs, took out her lungs and heart, and accessed the spine. She was sent home in a full body cast ,back to Montana after only 4 days (4 days?!). 5 days after that she developed a 104* temperature so they rushed her to a hospital in Billings where they tried to stabilize her for the plane ride back to Seattle. Meanwhile the Dr. in Seattle flew down to Billings to oversee the progress. She lost the battle late last night and her grandpa is just crushed.
If you can, say a little prayer for little Katie Burt and family.
