Just to note, the spending reductions are calculated over 10 years but the debt limit increase is only enough to cover out spending for the next year. We are still spending WAAYYYY more than we should.

The fact that the majority of the country isn't calling for drastic cuts in Congressional waste is telling. Whether the people have indeed become "sheeple", or simply apathetic to the point they feel it's inevitable and might as well enjoy themselves while it lasts is irrelevant. What is relevant is whether people with enough guts to do what's right to save the country will lay the smackdown on Congress in time to right the ship. We're on an express ride to the bottom right now.
