Usually, eye relief on a red-dot isn't an issue. Most people place them far enough forward so a backup rear sight can be placed behind it. In case a battery or the red-dot dies you can flip up the rear sight (and front sight as applicable) and sight right thru the red-dot glass. That's called "co-witnessing" just FYI.

If you have one already, you can always try placing it at different spots on the rail to see what works for you with your particular sight.

I’ve heard right above the ejection port on an AR is common practice, but it’s your preference. I know you’re not supposed to “bridge” the upper receiver and the handguard if it’s got a rail on the handguard.

Update. Installed and 1st sight in for 25 yards, it's a hot day ok?

I DO wish I'd got these sooner!

The left target was the 556 and the right is the 7.62x39.
