I dunno, just whichever one she's likely to practice/train with the most. If that means a light-recoiling .380 (Browning BDA, Beretta 84, etc.), then you bet. The shooting through purse thing will never happen, so forget about that. Revolvers ARE simple, but there's no manual safety and no way to decock 100% safely, particularly in that situation (not that she would ever fire in SA mode anyway, but...). There's also the harder trigger pull with revos.

Hard to say; just whichever one she shoots better and is willing to familiarize herself with its controls, etc.

AND, she should probably carry with one in the chamber on an auto, or not at all, IMO, rather than relying on racking, because it's something she won't practice since she won't/can't do it withOUT adrenaline.

Most likely, one of the Berettas with a tip-up barrel are the way to go here, so that she can load the first round manually (easily) during practice and before protection use, and carry with a round chambered. Then familiarize with and use the manual safety.
