Rut Report 2018

Was at Eufaula over the weekend and sunday morning a guy killed a nice 10 point on core land.
He seen a doe jogging across a field and right behind that doe was this 10 point buck with his nose to the ground and moving at jogging pace .. He fell to the guys .308.
I seen nothing!
But i did not get out in the woods until around noon on sunday. because I had to help a buddy there that his woman just left him and took all he had no vehicle.
Suck!
I suppose not seeing any deer is much better than what he must deal with.

Saturday - West side of I-35 Noble Cnty. Hunting over wheat field. No indication of seeking or chasing. Just visiting the wheat buffet.
4:20 - Button buck - stayed till @ 5:00
5:10 - Three does
5:15 - Heard shot from far away
5:20 - 6 ptr on diff field my buddy sat on @ 200 yds away
5:25 - Fork horn
5:30 - ? 300 yds away
6:1? - OSU upsets WVU!

Missed a full day of hunting Sunday, and didn't have much activity this morning. A little spike, a forkhorn, a little 8-point and a couple of does. I did get to watch the little forkhorn chase a doe! Missed out on the evening hunt today.

Saw a 4 point this morning at 8, he was moving along but didn't appear to real excited. Jumped 2 bucks at 1230 together, which was weird. 0 deer for the afternoon hunt. Lockdown, I'm guessing. Saw 4 deer driving out.

The bucks are still tailing the does in Oklahoma county. A cull 2x3 buck came in about 3:45pm and had a bad afternoon. Live weight was 146 pounds. He will make plenty of slim jims.

For some more groceries. They never are too concerned with my presence.

The small 6 and 8 points were moving well this morning. I took a 62 year old hunting and he got his first deer. It was a decent 8 pt but the excitement he exhibited was awesome. He did not know that I was videoing the harvest on my phone. I confess that I grooved the brisket of a very nice deer. Damn glasses!

Eight doe and two eight pointers this evening, everything right at sunset or after. Both were chasing.
