To clarify my rut report, we have a terrible buck to doe ratio. The bucks don't have to go far to find another doe to breed, so they IMHO stay in rut longer vs an area that has a better ratio of bucks to does, where they run out of does pretty quickly.
That is just my opinion with no scientific data to back it up. Just personal observation and maybe too much thinking.

The rut was terrible for me. Saw one doe getting chased on the 12th and no other real rut activity. A bunch of young bucks cruising, but nothing older than 2 and I know we have some good ones in the area. I guess it's time to thin the does, but it doesn't feel like we have a ton of them. I'm at a loss. Started moving stands yesterday but I'm out until next weekend at this point.
