Been shooting the Sig 2022 for a couple years now and am very happy with it. Not sure how much price is a factor for you but they can be had for around $400.

Very long double action pull (almost too long). Single action is very crisp and clean.

Probably have around 3k rounds through it and never had one single malfunction.

CZ 2075 D RAMI 9mm is my favorite. Its very compact but still holds 15 on board. its also comfortable to shoot, accurate and eats anything.

Walther P99

Get an old S&W 3rd gen, all metal, reliable, accurate and CHEAP for what you get.

Both of these work for me. Loved my SW99, wish I'd never sold it. Have a pair of the S&Ws now.

I am partial to Sig, P220 Carry in warm weather and P229/357sig Fall thru Spring.

Have a Sig Pro 2340 (model before 2022), P6, P220, and a Ruger KP90DC. I prefer the Sig Pro's decocker over the others, though I'm probably in the minority.
