A lot of self defense ammo runs around $1.00 per round these days. Not saying it should be priced like that, just that it is. If you study the history, when they went to 25 rounds being a box, the price basically didn't change for the box, it just had 1/2 the rounds in it and it most likely had the word defense on it somewhere. They usually sell the 50 round boxes to LE now. At least that's the current practice.

I just wish I could buy Federal HST bullets to handload. As it is I just have to make due with those Gold Dots. :grumble:

Winchester Silvertips was the Ammo everyone had to have before the Black Talons came along. In the early eighties we were issued .357 Silvertips as duty ammo. When I went through the transition course and started carrying a semi-auto I was issued .45 Silvertips. I think I still have a few rounds of each buried on the shelf in the gun cave.
