That's how it was when I was a kid! We lived off-post near Grafenwoehr. We rode our bikes EVERYWHERE! When we were on post this time of day - bikes stopped and AT ATTENTION we stood! And yes - all traffic stopped, too. All military personnel inside the vehicles got out and stood at attention. Those in uniform saluted.

I'd sure like to go back to Germany!
