Stop a dog from barking

I have a neighbor that has a barking dog, any ideas on how to make a dog be quiet other than lead poisoning?

Shoot him in the face with a squirt gun. My aunt had a retarded skipperkee that would not shut up. after a few weeks of water to the face he learned to shut up.

I always took 1 piece of bread and slathered one side with peanut butter and then folded it in half and tossed it over the fence.
Few minutes of quiet.
Barking some more then more peanut butter sammich over the fence.

Many times of that and the dogs will be quiet and eventually be your friend and not bark at you through the fence, just whimper for a sammich.
Peanut butter and bread is a cheap deal. About 5 of those and that pups belly is full and ready for a nap.

Works better line of sight. If you have a tall wooden fence it doesn’t work as well.

I had that problem once, called the guy at 3 A.M. cause his dog had been barking about 2 hours stright. When he answered I asked if he wanted to sell his dog. Puzzled, he said why, I said so I could shoot him. He (P.O.'d) "You're not going to shoot my dog! I said no, it would be my dog I shot. Last time the dog kept me up.
