i am still a younger guy but made the choice this January to give up a roughly 14 year smokeless tobacco habit. Cold turkey no more Copenhagen for me, chewing gum and toothpicks helped me. i still chew a lot of trident gum and would give almost anything gor a fresh can of snuff sometimes.

good luck with kicking the habit.

Buy yourself something nice to show the $$ you saved by quitting. The first 3 months are the hardest, after that not so bad. Do not fall for the "I'll have just one", once you quit you have to decide you are a non smoker for life.
I will say a nicotine replacement is not quitting, too easy just to switch back to cigs.

A year ago next month I quit, I just decided one day I was tired of spending so much money on tobacco and tired of always having my wife tell me I smelled like smoke. It wasn't easy but it does take a lot of willpower. Good luck, you can do it.

50 year smoker....

Same here about 4 years ago pink. Use whatever works for you to get past that first week or so. Patch, gum, porn, whatever. You won't believe how much freedom there is after you quit. You're not a slave to it any more. I'm rooting for you. You can make it happen. Making the decision is the hardest part. Once you do that for real everything else starts falling into place. I'm proud of you brother.

The strongest motivation in quitting smoking is how much better you feel, almost immediately. In my own case the phlem in my lungs and sinuses cleared up in about thirty six hours. Hope you get unbant in time to share your own experience.

It really boils down to a choice, either you choose to be a smoker, or you choose to quit. I have quit many times and I finally just quit because I got tired of the way it made me feel and the way it made me smell. You will never quit until you make the choice that you dont want to smoke. You will always want one, but you have to fight the urge to smoke. After a while, the cravings go away, but not entirely.

Well,
Here is my 2 cents I quit on 10-10-10 an easy date to remember after smoking 1/2 pack a day for 24 years. I DID it for myself and no one else not for my wife or my family that is just the bonus as it helps them as well but again you must quit for yourself and yes you will never get over the cravings especially after a meal is the hardest for me.

I still use the Camel Snu’s https://snus.tobaccopleasure.com/modules/security/Login.aspx every now and then just when I feel the need for a little nicotine but not everyday a can of 15 pouches will last me for a little over a month and I don’t have to have a spit can with me as you don’t need to spit it out.

I know it is not completely giving up the nicotine but it is what helps me. And at least I don’t have the smoke and tar in my lungs anymore.
Now if I can get rid of the extra 35 lbs I gained from quitting smoking I will be in great shape.

Good Luck and wish you the best
