If obama wins re-election, it will be with the help of the government run media and if people don't have a problem with that then you get what's coming to you. I hear the "experts" talk about no president has ever one re-election for this reason or for that reason, all of which obama falls into, and all the while obama is up in the polls and the government run media has all but declared obama winner, what is wrong with this picture. obama does NOT deserve to president any more than I need to be doing heart surgery, and he may get it again. It doesn't matter who is running against obama, it could be Washington, Lincoln, or Reagan, anyone would have a hard time against this government run machine and his minions.

The news media is in business to attract a large audience and sell advertising. They do this by entertaining the viewer and catering to confirmation bias (the tendency of people to favor information that confirms their beliefs).

I'm not sure I'm in line with that thinking. You're saying they are only saying what the people want to hear and not really interested in working for the government? If that were true, according to the tv news ratings, they would be more like Fox News (say what you want about Fox News) are not in the governments back pocket.

Either way, we have a problem in this country, and it's in the White House, and it got there in large part, with help from the media.

Actually, what he said is absolutely true. It's too hard to compete for ratings with such a small niche of infotainment, thus each caters to a different demographic of thought. Left, right, middle... More ratings = more money. Even Rush is full of bull, saying only what makes him money. Doesn't matter if he believes it or not, it pays. Howard Stern said it best, "I'd rather have a million listeners that hated me rather than 500,000 that loved me."

Yeah, I get that part, sad that America's future is going to be decided this way because we have a HUGE problem.

The media doesn't decide the elections. The are just one more influence and, in fact, in this days of broadcast news, cable news, internet news, and print news - of widely varying types the citizen has less reason than ever to gripe and complain that he can't get info. Of course he can, but now he may have to sort through multiple news sources and opinions not just get one neatly packages evening news show with walter Cronkite telling him what to believe in a nice fatherly tone.

"The media doesn't decide the elections." But they limit who they cover, and many people think that if the media isn't covering a particular candidate, that candidate must not have a chance. Look at Gary Johnson.
