If you are at a business that doesn't allow carry of any kind and a lunatic comes in and shoots you.If the person lives, I wonder if the business can be sued for prohibiting someone from protecting themselves.If not, you should be able to sue them.

Sure, you can sue almost anybody for almost anything.

Doesn't guarantee you will win. If I were the attorney for the business I would argue that we just said you can't carry, but you chose to accept the conditions when you came in anyway. </shrug>

I do believe in and support the right to open carry. But about the only time I do it, if even then, is directly to and from a gun range. Why? Two main reasons:
(1). I prefer to keep my weapon concealed, as I believe it gives me an advantage, should I have need of it.
(2). I also believe that in today's world, seeing someone with a firearm, especially an AR/AK or similar, openly displayed in a public setting like a commercial business, store, restaurant, etc. DOES cause fear, and even panic. I don't want to contribute to that; it does neither me nor anyone else any good. Instead, it is counter productive to our cause. I just want to have the means to protect me and mine in the event I have to do so. So, I carry my firearm, every where that I can, concealed from view, but readily at hand.

If you want to open carry, well, the law says you can. For now anyway. But for the benefit of both our cause and everyone else, please use good judgement. Intentionally or even unintentionally causing alarm or scaring people is not the way to promote the 2A.

I also believe that almost irreparable damage to the law-abiding firearms community has been done by the antics of these so-called 2A auditors. Keep it up, and either the legislature or the voting public will nullify the right to act in such a manner. Just because you can does not mean that you should.

Carry your firearm IAW the law. Promote the right to keep and bear arms, but do so in a responsible, civil manner.

I have to agree. I saw it on FB recently where these “auditors” were marching in a parade behind a Democratic Party float with their “pistols” slung over their shoulders. They are hurting more than helping.

Long gun carry......I’m sure there are plenty carried in vehicles every day that no one knows about.
