I have had 3 Moultrie D 50s. 2 worked great,(2 years) and I took them down, because I swapped in IR. The 3rd quit flashing for night time pictures. It will randomly flash when taking a night pic. I called Moultrie and they told how to do a "Reboot" and if that didn't fix it, I would have to send it in.
I have had a couple Stealth cams, and I don't have any complaints, but I replaced them with IR.
The IR cams that have taken the place of all the others are Bushnell Trophy Cams. They are small brown units, that use 4/8 AA batteries. I have had the Energizer Lithium batteries in them since September and they are currently still working. I would venture a guess at 3000 pics per month. They have a field scan option as well as different megapixel settings. Time out mode is extensive, and you take short day time video clips or set the number of pictures taken upon triggering.
