Cool video. Motor sports were not for the timid back in the old days, that's for sure.

The drivers that impress me most as far as ballsiness goes are the guys that used to strap into slingshot dragsters with that nitro methane beast spinning in front of them and the driveline between their legs. Hell they are terrifying enough at idle, I can't imagine launching one down the strip knowing that blowing a clutch could change your gender.

My grandpa used to race at the okc fairgrounds back in those days. I've got some cool picks of his old cars. He used to tell me all kinds of stories about those days. He witnessed a lot of nasty crashes, a lot of deaths too.
