Sorry, it's a crappy cell phone picture. I know...I know it's in a truck bed with its tongue out. I bagged this eight point with my M77 Ruger in .270 Winchester.
This buck stepped out yesterday morning and screwed around in front of my box for 10 minutes or so at 200yards. It started to run off so my killing instincts made me shoot. I had no intentions on killing it. I think I have a problem. [Broken External Image]
i think we're gonna see alot of pics come in.i was doing turkey day with the family in tulsa but was keeping track of all my buddy's that were hunting. deer were moving pretty good.
We have a Half Rack that we are trying to clear out of our gene pool too, smart a$$ keeps just out of safe range.
Congrats one the daughters kill, bet she enjoyed it!
I've been out hunting in western panhandle all Thanksgiving break trying to get a muley... I screwed up though. Rushed out here Wednesday from OKC so I could hunt a bit that evening. While driving through the land to the spot I planned on parking saw a young buck (i'm not particular, just want meat mostly). I pulled the truck up out of his sight, got dressed and the gun out, and snuck through the field. Crawled through the field for about 200 yards and got a bit closer than I intended to (thought he was further away). So I spooked him up and had to hurry my shot. Between my being out of breath, excited, hurrying, shooting standing up, and not being a super stellar shot to begin with, I missed. Haven't seen any bucks since then except a real young one literally about 1000 yards away and going further. ... Seen about 25 muley does everytime I am out though. Should have brought a bow so I could have shot one of the 3 does that was 15 yards from us when driving around..... Tomorrow morning is my last try..... until the annual pheasant hunting trip next weekend. "you guys have fun... I'll be over here with my rifle if you need me!"
